Family Safaris

A family safari vacation in Africa is an experience like none other and we are your family safari experts! African Safari Company is a family-owned company, and our safari experiences range from exploring the bush as young ones ourselves, to planning safaris for our own families and friends. We’ve scouted the best child-friendly tours in Cape Town like drumming lessons, aquarium visits, child-friendly wineries (where everyone can have fun!) with tractor rides and wildlife visits, plus an “aerial tree adventure” in the historic Constantia winelands!

In the beautiful Nairobi, Kenya suburb of Karen, wake up to a giraffe outside your room at Giraffe Manor, adopt an orphaned elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or rest up after a long flight by the swimming pool at the family-friendly lodge, The Emakoko. Outside of the cities in the African game reserves, we recommend the flexibility of a private safari villa or bush home in some of the best wildlife parks. We’ve sourced specialist kid-friendly safari guides who let everyone relax and enjoy the African bush safely and comfortably. Want to bring Grandma and Grandpa along, too? We’ve been designing multi-generational safaris for years and know the ins and outs of how to please a wide range of ages and interests. Do you have teenagers who are ready for some true adventure? African Safari Company can craft a custom family safari in Africa to suit your interests, budget and timeline. Check out our Family Travel Guide for more information and ideas.

There’s nothing quite like building memories of great adventure, wildlife encounters, cultural experiences and the amazing act of travel with those closest to you. Our team of safari experts has explored East and Southern Africa countless times to experience first-hand the guides, camps and tours that allow us to create your dream family vacation and memories to last a lifetime. Our customized family safari tours utilize the best private bush homes, luxury African villas and family-friendly camps and lodges that offer special attention and activities for younger ones, while maintaining the top amenities and luxury.

In South Africa, we have created a malaria-free family safari that offers both adventure and comfort for families traveling to Africa. Set out and explore the Tanzania bush on safari with your kids and experience Big 5 game viewing and warm tropical beaches. Head to Botswana on our Elephant Family Safari, one of the few truly family-focused safaris in the country with specialist guide, Paul Moleseng, and watch your children become young explorers as learn and grow alongside one of Africa’s premier guides.
